Heli-hiking
Heli-Hiking in Banff and the Canadian Rockies
White Mountain Adventures, located just outside of Banff National Park, offers one of the most exhilarating sightseeing tours of high mountain nature within the Canadian Rockies. Heli hiking is perhaps the most awe inspiring way to view the Canadian Rockies.
From their base in Canmore, take a helicopter flight to a remote alpine drop-off where you and your guide are free to explore nature above the tree line. Here you can enjoy the magnificent alpine flowers or the majestic spread of snowfields, depending on the season. With its array of
wildlife such as pika, marmots, and bighorn sheep, you can enjoy the sights that include spectacular views in all four directions. Choose a trek appropriate for your level of hiking expertise, whether it’s a leisurely walk or a brisk hike off the beaten path. Once you complete
your excursion, your helicopter will come to fetch you and bring you back to home base.
With each trip guided by a White Mountain Adventure professional, you will learn about the region, including the history of the area, the various flora and fauna, and the lore behind each mountain peak.
Boots, jackets, daypacks, and hiking poles are provided. You only need to bring yourself and your camera to enjoy one of Banff’s spectacular heli hikes.
